Has anybody ever tried doing windows orientated development (msbuild, c++, DirectX) on Linux via wine?

@theorytoe I'm really making an honest attempt to move off of windows but I am raped and chained by corporate requirements to use windows ecosystem

@RustyCrab @theorytoe I could work around such requirements by using the browser versions of Windows software and SDK scripts, but I guess that might be a hard obstacle if you are supposed to be developing in that environment. Niggacrab stuck in MS purgatory for eons to atone for the sin of that career path. niggauncannycat

@RustyCrab @theorytoe people that have 50x more Speed do nothing with their PC.
Trust me: limiting factors are catalysts for creativity.
(You can even break writer's block by adding artificial limits, literally)

I write on a 100$ notebook even tho there is a Ryzen7+GTX3060 on the table 🤷‍♂️

@RustyCrab @theorytoe can you install Linux on a USB drive and boot your work computer into it from BIOS?
(Without touching the SSD inside with the windows partition with botlocker)

@hexman @theorytoe yes but running operating systems off of externals is generally ill-advised not to mention dual booting sucks (I did it for years)
