Most devs that actually need money have methods to support them outside of purchasing their game anyway so you can usually support them regardless. Also if i feel a game should be supported i just a buy a steam ver.
If i want a copy on my hardrive i will just pirate it
And drm(while fucking shitty) isn't a problem 99% of the time for me(i think maybe 20 out of the 300 games i own on steam have drm, most are multiplayer anyway)
