@natty The only times I've ever had issues with a distro becoming spontaneously unbootable is on Arch with Pacman deciding to delete the kernel or whatever for literally no reason. No atomicity is unacceptable.

pacman is the median tier of all package managers for me,
not a sucky mess like apt or kinda rpm
but not an elegant but 🤓 like anything better.
Tho idk I should use gentoo sometime but I'm too infected by the just works (shittily) virus
