After seeing various takes on the Steam Machine, I don’t think they should even bother releasing it. The performance does not really justify the price when the system is slower than a PS5 with around the same settings. The fact that it defaults to 1080p resolution instead of 4K makes the claim of it doing 4K60 with FSR doubtful. In my opinion, it’s only worth $599 at most with a controller, not $700 or even $1050.

I think they could have subsidize it a little bit, but no. Gabe needs more money to fund his new mansion and yachts. Even in recent years, I have read posts that Steam Summer Sales are less generous in discounts and basically the same as the consoles are.

I think Steam has gotten too big and became a monopoly that they are just abusing their position. After all, with their takes in defending “loot boxes” over gambling claims in CS Go, the lack of moderation, massive Steam Deck price increases, and now this, Valve are not the good guys and already entered their maximum greed era.

Remember, corporations are not your friends, stop glazing and worshiping Valve/Gabe.
