@meso it’s probably a part of the optical design. The old Carl Zeiss lenses and derivatives are pretty well known for their swirly bokeh.

The Helios 44M is probably the most famous for it these days.

@meso I’ve got an old Leica thread mount Canon 50mm lens that can do the swirly bokeh.
