Now that I think about it, the mentality of a programmer and a pet is pretty similar. You do tricks for the management, doing your best for their approval, the highlight of your work being getting praised if you do a good job, or scolded if you make a little accident in the codebase.

@snacks Honestly I blame mastodon for pulling in a lot of people who were lured with an echo bubble under the nonsense pretense that twitter is full of "nazis"(which to those people are people who disagree with anarchocommunist bullshit), and they believe they are entitled to one and don't even bother explaining why they want people removed. They didn't come here attracted by the ideals of federated social networking- quite the opposite.
In which case I don't get why they don't just make a Matrix server or something. Fedi serves them no purpose other than being their twitter subutex.
