I've set the $DISPLAYMANAGER variable in the "display-manager" script to a hard coded path to lightdm. It's not pretty but it works

I think the problem is that Suse tries to start GDM (which I broke at some point). I've been using lightdm as a replacement (which improved the boot time drastically)

The live upgrade from OpenSUSE Leap 42.3 to OpenSUSE 15.1 is done. Everything should work (something probably broke anyways)
