@lerk I always considered the story as an important part in those types of games (no matter how lackluster said story may seem).
It's sad to see that Bethesda clearly thinks differently about that (especially due to the fact that they position themselves mainly as an RPG game developer), because it was foreseeable that the minute long recordings will get interrupted by some event (a terminal interaction or other players in the voice chat) and that there is no convenient way to replay certain parts of a holotape.
Most players, myself included, don't want to listen to the same voice lines over and over again and hope that nothing will interrupt the playback this time
