@amolith > Rundfunkbeitrag (not the amount of money but simply because the government can pull off such bullshit and nobody cares)
> mandatory health insurance, it's a nightmare if you don't want to get trapped in social programs if you can't afford it
> mountains of restrictions about stuff you wouldn't even think about
> densely populated, no escape from civilization for even a moment
> people speak german puke and think that's fine
> old people are unable to make decisions or see the world outside of what's legal or what one is "supposed to do"
> culture is cringe and pathetic
I'm probably just amplifying any small reason to be mad but being stuck here doesn't make it better

@amolith swiss is cool, austria is as lame as germany.
Rhndfunkbeitrag is a payment all germans have to pay per household for a collection of state supported TV and radio. basically companies get paid by law lmao.
it's not even a tax.

@pseudoriemann @amolith as long as your informed democracy depends on a single point of failure, I don't see why anyone should pay to maintain it. and if private media can influence them via propaganda, such a society is not informed at all.

@genmaicha @amolith I don't know tbh. US seems cool, very relaxed and vast open space but there's also downsides. I think it's not perfect anywhere and I'm far from being able to move so I have plenty of time to dream about it.
