@Pawlicker very unusually progressive design for the time, I remember apple just put them in a line on the bottom row with earlier powerbook keyboards

@mint @allison @Pawlicker imagine being too retarded to literally just put keys there

@mint @Pawlicker I'm not sure, I don't think so. The first laptops I ever saw with that specific layout were HP consumer models.

@Pawlicker @mint actually had the displeasure to try playing touhou on one of these IRL and it's exactly as awkward as it looks

@allison@hidamari.apartments @mint@ryona.agency yeah I'm tempted to get a USB/PS/2 KB adapter for using better boards on my PC-98s with a sane arrow key layout.

I'd love to play PC-98 games with a nice mechanical board, or MX Black or green board. I like my outemu teal board, but I feel one day I'm gonna wear the switches out (but at least this ones socketed).

@Pawlicker @mint I'm using gateron optical yellows now because they're the only switches light enough to not cause me hand strain after prolonged use

@allison@hidamari.apartments @mint@ryona.agency yeah optical keyboards are $$$ but I'd imagine they feel nice and clicky.

What's a good affordable optical keyboard? That'd be hilarious to use on a PC98 tbh.

@Pawlicker @mint GK61, it's a 60% board but I got mine for $30 on Amazon. I'll send you the link later when I'm not on the road.
