Car instructors here actually feel comfier with you holding it in first gear with the clutch depressed because they dont trust you. Not a cardinal sin of any kind just anyone with a brain stops doing this because it's incredibly exhausting on the leg and if you're not a retarded faggot you can switch gears to first quite quickly
