This is still the best image I’ve ever seen illustrating how the human psyche works. I am absolutely adamant about this. You are not a machine, you are a boiling pot of organic nonsense, and however well you front I will never not believe that behind your eyes, you are going through the same voyages through half-remembered images, spaces, faces and songs that I am.

@mia It’s even better when you realise that the ghost might not be entirely within the body. I remember reading about Jeremy Narby’s research into the intelligence of plants, where he found that a slime mold could solve a simple maze and then remember the way through it for a second run. He also found that some parasitic plant from the Amazon (which moves around) could differentiate between a healthy host and an unhealthy host from over 6 feet away.

These beings… Don’t have physiology that explains this level of activity. We’ve assumed the psyche is physically within the brain because we have the brain, but it’s still just an assumption.
