Young women leaning so hard into literal witchcraft is genuinely horrifying and disgusting

It's accelerating the destruction of our social fabric, Christianity (which happens to be true and good)

@KonataWagner @eemmaa a married woman playing at witchcraft is doubly disgusting. First she is naive/dumb enough to fall for this shit and second her husband is too weak/stupid to intervene and tell her no

Besides being a Christian myself and inherently hostile to this stuff already, personal experience has led me to believe that the women who get most into this have the worst lives. Poorer, less educated, more superstitious, less mentally healthy. And it doesn't seem to help them

@KonataWagner I just think christianity is trash and yhwh is a faggot. I mean its fine if you have the silly superstitious belief in him, but i think its dumb and i dont think it really provides much fabric nowadays. Religion is supposed to be integral to life and christianity largely fails on that mark because it is just an imported cult.

Even if you think that, what's replacing it is more superstitious and way more atomized

@KonataWagner i think thats better, i think religion would become more integral to life. The people that do silly rituals in their room and too themselves, and with their life are breathing life into a religion that is integral to life, and they share their findings and talk about it, sure a lot of its stupid and a lotta stupid cults existed in rome, but it is by its nature integral to life generally.

@KonataWagner @eemmaa if you knew the true nature of witchcraft, you would know it was nothing to fear

@KonataWagner @eemmaa I wish the shit you delusional Christcucks believe in was actually happening. I would absolutely love it if a horde of pickme goth girls destroyed your religion with crystals and candles lmao

From just a secular perspective (which I don't come from because I'm a Christian): it's horrifying because it serves none of the social purposes organized religion does. It's a sign of how disconnected our culture is now. We seem to be regressing to base superstition and pagan amorality. I don't want people's relationship to the supernatural to be about trading favors and selfishness

I think it is really happening to some extent among lower to middle class young women

@KonataWagner @tamamizu the lack of superstition is actually a sign of disconnect of religion and society. Something came to fill the void because the organized religions were failing on that count.

@KonataWagner @eemmaa paganism isn't amoral and superstition cannot be excised from society. that said, the atomization thing is a real problem imo

People are becoming more superstitious atm, not less

@KonataWagner @eemmaa i can't say that really bothers me tbh. besides, it's all in reaction to the state of the world. superstition becomes less necessary the more stable society is, but it's not the fault of superstition that people need to cling to it in times of great turmoil

@KonataWagner @eemmaa Christianity famously was born during a time of immense social turmoil where everyone thought the world was going to end

@KonataWagner @tamamizu @eemmaa This is something that people seem unable to wrap their heads around, because the current superstition is dressed up in science-like language. Easy to call horoscopes looney but easy to justify lunar cycles affecting the tides of our minds.

Well to be fair it seems like the person who responded to me agreed to some extent

@KonataWagner @eemmaa @tamamizu I just meant people in general; I don't scroll up. I guess my point doesnt really apply to unironic pagan/wiccans but it reminded me of this thread: https://poa.st/objects/880b171b-961f-46bb-90a2-72b463e6dad2
