If you mean self awareness...
So, we like to think of ourselves as special. Some sort of inalienable, indivisible, immortal, untouchable force. I know who I am, but the ants don't know who they are. The dogs barely do. Humans must be unique.
I don't think that way. That's not to say we aren't super cool, but I believe in determinism. Reality is rigorously defined by a set of rules and every bit of stuff in it follows those rules. The future is set in stone, BUT philosophically I don't subscribe to that because it's impossible to predict the future so perfectly, and it's absolutely no excuse for fatalism. You might be destined to try and fail, or laze about and succeed, don't worry about that just do stuff.
We don't have an immortal soul, way I see it. But that squishy three pounds of weird flesh in your head is a wonderful lump of matter, capable of so many weird and wonderful thoughts that my lump cares about. That contrast of concepts is funny to me.
