@lizzie the idrlabs test actually says im 100% lena juicer.
which is bullshit because unlike lena i actually care about basic hygiene and compound my hormones responsibly.

@mia @lizzie @lucy see, there are two genders:

* hormones are allowed after 10 years waiting list and 3 years real life experience in public crossdressing
* pyrogens are a spook

everything else is a mental illness

@arcana @lizzie @lucy @mold yes. people claim to have found entire hairs in the vials she sold to them, and given her ramblings i believe them

@mia @lizzie @lucy @mold There are ramblings about hairs in vials? That is pretty wild. That sounds very unsterile.

@arcana @lizzie @mia @mold lena doesn't really sterilize at all. no clean environment, half-ass autoclaving, and justifies it by saying "there's no enough carbonhydrates in the vial for diseases to survive" and i wish i was making this one up

@arcana @lizzie @lucy @mold yes. her idea is that it basically doesn’t matter what goes in a vial as long as you put it in boiling water afterwards, because according to her that’ll sterilize anything.

1

2
@arcana @lizzie @mia @mold it used to be worse actually in the beginning she wasn't using an autoclave at all

@mia @lizzie @lucy @mold I see... and I'm presuming that isn't the case in reality?

I think good to avoid hairs in vials for aesthetic and professional reasons, though if there is a medicinal reasoning for avoidance too that's also good.
2

@lucy @lizzie @mia @mold TIL those things exist. I just used to sterilize things by holding it in blue fire.
1

@arcana @lizzie @mia @mold you inject this stuff into your muscle. it doesn't take a medical degree to be *at least* suspicious of how *safe* that would be
1

@lucy @lizzie @mia @mold Well I think it is good to purify with fire, but not everything can withstand direct fire and so boiling water is the next best thing. I did not realize this thinking wasn't correct.

I thought to purify you needed to apply heat for several minutes. This doesn't deal with contents such as lead or mercury however.

What is the actual solution? I need this information for an upcoming quest of sorts I will be going on as I have previously mentioned to you.

@mischievoustomato @lizzie @mia @lucy @mold I will be gathering water from a very, very ancient source that may not be quite up to modern standards, so I need to fully purify it before it's consumed.

@arcana @lizzie @lucy @mold yes. in reality compounding sterile solutions is difficult. there are quite a few books on the topic. to give you an idea, 90% of the money i spent for my compounding setup (which cost a lot) is on measures to ensure some basic safety, and it’s still nowhere near the level of sterility assurance that you get in professional lab settings (and a big part of that is also process design, recordkeeping and monitoring)

@lucy @lizzie @mia @mold No? This is how I was taught, you hold the vial with tongs over a blue flame which can be produced by burning various gasses

@arcana @lucy @mold @mia @lizzie I'd like to know how this is done too. We have a water filter ova here because the tap water isn't suitable for drinking.

@meso @lizzie @mia @lucy @mold A flask is larger with an outward base, whereas a vial is thin and parallel on each side. For a flask you usually rest them over the flame on a mesh. It's important to not allow the orange flame to linger on them however as this causes sooting.

@lucy @lizzie @mia @mold I imagine this is for a chemical mirroring of radiation correct? In which alpha emitting substances are most dangerous inside you but least dangerous outside you as they can be blocked by mere paper, and the inverse with gamma?

@arcana @lizzie @mia @mold nah it's because the immune system is kinda retarded sometimes
1

@arcana @lizzie @mia @mold step one: figure out what *could* contamine your substance
step two: figure out how the contamination present differently to your substance
step three: for testing, figure out how to prove the presence or absence of contaminations. for purifying, figure out what makes all possible contaminations go away that doesn't alter your substance or introduces new contaminations in the process.

that's literally the first lesson of chemistry actually
1

@lucy @lizzie @mia @mold Yes that makes sense. This is actually a common cause of maladies I believe. Fevers, diarrhea. All of this is deadly and yet a common symptom of an over active immune system.

@lucy @lizzie @mia @mold I see. The main thing I remember from chemistry class was stumping all of the teachers with my enquiry on the nature of fire. I said that it was not a solid, a liquid, or a gas. So what was it? They had no answer.

I know that sounds like a shitpost, but it's genuinely not, my main memory of Chemistry. I did get a C however, but my teachers were unable to help me with my questions.

Realistically how am I meant to do this without presumably a great deal of modern equipment. Let's say I'm in a forest next to a well, with a some kind of filter from LifeStraw and a butane cooker. What are my options here?

I do know about ph, you can get special paper that changes color upon contact with acids and alkalines.

@lucy @lizzie @arcana @mia @mold google ai says:
>Fire is considered plasma only when the flame reaches a high enough temperature to ionize a significant portion of the gas molecules, meaning most everyday flames like burning wood or gas are not technically plasma, but very hot flames can contain some plasma depending on the material being burned and the heat generated; essentially, fire is only plasma under specific, high-heat conditions.

@arcana @lizzie @mia @lucy @mold i think most flames you see are all just hot gas, seeing a plasma flame is rare unless you are like a welder

@arcana @lizzie @mia @mold probably unaware teachers aren't very interested in the subjects they teach in my experience, except sometimes near the end of higher education. i had a biology teacher once who explained to me that if humans had wings they'd be birds and she was actually dead serious about that there's no winged mammals on earth.

@arcana @lizzie @mia @mold as always in life you can only ever be as safe as you're smart and technologically capable. you're taking risks from your first to your last breath.
1

2

@lucy @eemmaa @lizzie @arcana @mold not really. and the visible part depends on what’s combusting. some fuel-air mixtures for example burn with an invisible flame and very little radiant heat, so you’ll only notice the fire when you’re already standing in it (which some fuel enigineers had to find out the hard way)

2

@lucy @lizzie @mia @mold Of course there are winged mammals. Bats! Some squirrels though they are only capable of gliding. Many others unconfirmed.

@mia @lizzie @lucy @mold @eemmaa Do different types of wood produce different gases? I know of the difference between wet wood and dry wood in terms of smoke. I know certain trees burn with less smoke as well. Is the gas content different?

@mia @lizzie @arcana @mold @eemmaa okay there's weird flames true. ig in that sense, a flame isn't a thing because that's like asking "is lightning a gas?" or "is a rainbow a gas?".
is the heat radiance related to the ionisation like does more plasma result in less heat radiation or wdym?

@arcana @lucy @lizzie @mold a good filter and a pressure cooker i guess?
to remove most impurities other than microorganisms before sterilizing it in the cooker, you’d distill it first, but that’ll make it rather bland because it also removes minerals.

1

@eemmaa @lizzie @mia @lucy @mold >ectoplasm

Viscous liquid.

>cum

Viscous liquid.

>if you light ectoplasm on fire

I don't think it's flammable.

>how many rainbows does it take to get to a pot of gold

That's a later bastardisation. The original method is to abduct them and force them to show you their hoard in exchange for freedom. Be wary though, as they are sidhe and capable abductors themselves. - https://www.fairyist.com/fairy-tales/the-saga-of-fergus-mac-leti/

>is the moon made of cheese?

Certainly not. It seems to be quite a mushy mixture to see its coloring but due to the number of impacts it receives, I imagine it contains quite a large variance of materials including iron

>is it rock cheese?

Nay, it is bemoulded milk.

>can rcoks[sic] become cheese?

Salt is a form of rock I believe. There are goats especially that favor these saline stones, and so in a sense yes. They lick the salt rock and transform it into milk which can then be made cheese.

>can cheese becom rocks?

Technically speaking yes they can. I believe there is cheese that was transmuted to rock by the great eruption at Vesuvius.

>how many moons did the cow jump over?

I believe it's still unknown exactly. There are various theories on the meaning of this, but like many of Roud's Index, the original meaning and origin is lost to time.

@mia @lizzie @lucy @mold >pressure cooker

I don't think I have one of these, I have a stove that uses butane and a bigger stove that uses propane. Is it possible to use somebody else's pressure cooker for this endeavor? Where would I find somebody with a pressure cooker. I presume they'd know how to use it.

Hmmm. See this is part of the dilemma. Distilling in some ways may rid it of pollution but I fear that might also remove what makes it special water in the first place.

Is there a way to check for harmful components and only remove those?

@arcana @lizzie @mia @lucy @mold the part of fire that we see is atoms transitioning into lower energy states. the excess energy is released in the form of photons. nice thread btw

@arcana @lizzie @mia @lucy @mold Fire is hot gas. Everything hot radiates in the infrared bands, most fire we're used to also happen to radiate in the visible light bands. You can also get completely invisible fire from burning certain chemicals like methanol

Your teachers were retarded I'm so sorry you had to put up with them
1

2
@anemone @lizzie @mia @lucy @mold This is how radiation works. We even got to play with various isotopes I believe they were called and geiger counters, and we measured whether various objects blocked the radiation

@lucy @lizzie @arcana @mia @mold Fire isn't plasma, plasma is a fourth state of matter that (typically, it depends on the elements involved) only occurs at freakishly hot temperatures

When you look at a lightning bolt you're seeing the gases in the air getting momentarily converted to plasma

@arcana @lizzie @mia @lucy @mold Oh yeah boiling water for several minutes will kill anything that will hurt you by drinking it but it's not enough to properly sterilize things, for that you need high pressure+high heat

@scathach @lizzie @mia @lucy @mold Yes. I don't remember the rest of the class. She was a visiting educator person who came in to give a special talk. She took out this small paper bag and said "does anybody want one?"

Nobody did, so she ate some herself and said "that's my dead skin, it's perfectly safe and edible to eat".

The rest didn't stick with me as much. I recall she wore square glasses, must have been late 20s to early 30s, and had long black her tied up in a pony tale while being of pale complexion.

@arcana @lizzie @mia @lucy @mold Depends on the sizes of the pollutants in question. If they're large (eg, larger than a micron like most pathogens and particulates are) you can remove them with an ordinary filter

Smaller pollutants like toxic chemicals you'd need to do something fancy and utterly impractical

@scathach @lizzie @mia @lucy @mold Is there a test for this at least? Not removal so much as testing?

I plan to visit a selection of these sites and hopefully at least one of them is safe from pollutants. Testing for this is important however.

@scathach @lizzie @mia @lucy @mold Yes, I certainly plan to research each site extensively. I am just aware that some of these sites look absolutely vile to drink, while the news is also full of the pollutants in the water here. Britain has quite extreme water pollution.

Fortunately the surviving holy sites are almost all in the Scottish Highlands.

My area on here is deepest red. I am surrounded on 4 sides by water and each instructs people to be cautious touching the water due to pollutants.
