@icedquinn I think some aspects of Rand thought can be meaningfully reinterpreted if you account for her bourgeois thought and class background to extract some interesting ideas about individual negative freedom and egoism without her crackpipe thoughts on political power

@icedquinn @dagda its funny because marx and rand are both basically mad that some people get money without working and fantasize about the productive people refusing to subsidize them. they just disagree about who the moochers and looters are

@nemesis @dagda I think atlas shrugged it's entrepreneurs who are mad at being constrained by unambitious and stupid people.

If you have 140 IQ and work in STEM, there is a very real and common scenario where you are forced to explain yourself to people who literally will never begin to understand what you're doing. (I often disparage judges where they try computer cases without any form of comp sci literacy l, even though vaccines get a special court where literally everyone is a vaccine doctor)
