@snacks@netzsphaere.xyz @lucy@netzsphaere.xyz i hope it has redundancy
@snacks@netzsphaere.xyz @lucy@netzsphaere.xyz if the system experiences a loss in power it activates the backup generator
@lucy@netzsphaere.xyz kinda reminds me of that modular phone concept google abandoned. it wasn't wireless but now im thinking of that but with wireless and magnets
@lucy@netzsphaere.xyz I’m referring to this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_Ara?wprov=sfti1
@lucy @anemone guess the closest thing we got to an actual product like that was the first jolla phone, though it wasn’t THAT modular. the community made some extensions for it (detachable qwerty keyboard, epaper displays, solar chargers, etc.)
it was pretty clear only hackers would ever appreciate that sort of thing so they just used i2c and didn’t provide any special software support beyond exposing it via /dev
@mia@shrimptest.0x0.st @lucy@netzsphaere.xyz sadly people who appreciate a good ui but also want repairable and upgradable devices are rare
