@quasi I keep saying "woke" isn't "far left" but people keep making that mistake. Full-blown communist parties usually aren't very "woke" (although some are).

In Australia, all the self-proclaimed socialist orgs I know are woke. I don't guarantee I know all of them though.

For example here's the mouthpiece of Socialist Alliance, one of the bigger socialist parties in oz:

@quasi @taylan I do have the impression that parts of the gendercritical crowd sided with Trump in the US, most notably WoLF (Women's Liberation Front). Fascists get things done very quick, which is probably why I think they took this course (also to opposition from many of their own members).
I understand they are often demonized within the left, but I hope they understand that this is not a sustainable political alignment.

@dagda I just don't think the average worker cares much about this stuff. I think a lot of gender theory is capitalist distraction. So much of this exclusively exists within the West, and really only reared its head during/after the Occupy Wall Street protests. Coincidence? I don't know. @taylan @quasi

Hold on I have two questions and it would be great if you can answer either of them:
1. What is a fascist?
2. Why do you call Trump a fascist?

1. "Fascism is the power of finance capital itself. It is the organization of terrorist vengeance against the working class and the revolutionary section of the peasantry and intelligentsia. In foreign policy, fascism is jingoism in its most brutal form, fomenting bestial hatred of other nations.
This, the true character of fascism, must be particularly stressed because in a number of countries, under cover of social demagogy, fascism has managed to gain the following of the mass of the petty bourgeoisie that has been dislocated by the crisis, and even of certain sections of the most backward strata of the proletariat. These would never have supported fascism if they had understood its real character and its true nature. [..]
Fascism aims at the most unbridled exploitation of the masses but it approaches them with the most artful anti-capitalist demagogy, taking advantage of the deep hatred of the working people against the plundering bourgeoisie, the banks, trusts and financial magnates, and advancing those slogans which at the given moment are most alluring to the politically immature masses. In Germany -- "The general welfare is higher than the welfare of the individual," in Italy -- "Our state is not a capitalist, but a corporate state," in Japan -- "For Japan without exploitation," in the United States -- "Share the wealth," and so forth."

@adiz @taylan @quasi queer theory existed before occupy but everyone knows that famous 4chan screenshot of suspicious people showing up in occupy protests to speak about anything but banks.
Through all the USAid leaks we know by now that the CIA loves this shit and uses it for stirring up shit internationally. Transsexuals and gay/bi people also lose by being programmed and psyopped into taking more crackpot-extreme positions, harming their long term prospects at acceptance, as well as being lured into siding with imperialist agendas through money (which makes it easier for homophobes and transphobes in countries threatened by imperialism to frame them as foreign agents, because in many cases these activists literally are exactly that)
