when the virtual base address exceeds a certain limit zig just doesn't procude an elf file somewhere in the progress and then complains about said file being missing. i suspect lld but maybe it just works on a truly recent version of zig akkoweary

tbf this is a lot more stable than last time i tried it but can they please stop breaking backwards compat whyMelt you *need* to be somewhat reliable even in current age if you want to be taken seriously as a language

@scathach yes you do. nobody likes using stuff that is guaranteed to be broken in 3 months.

@lucy Modern programmers have Stockholm's syndrome and are retarded and think it's normal for things to break constantly and require fuckhuge container contraptions for basic shit

At least with C you can tack on the -std=c99 switch and it will probably not stop working just because you upgraded the compiler

it is complete in the sense that it doesn't get modified because a github issue got more than ten upvotes

@eris @scathach imagine you clean the kitchen and leave half way just because you didn't finish your work doesn't make it complete

why not C23? It was just a random example of an old version of language that is still usable (why not C89? I hate it)
