I mean corporations push security as a great concern, when in a lot of cases it isn't — besides far greater potential security issues come from centralisation (make one account and use it everywhere, making email or phone number your login) and monoculture (imagine a serious vulnerability in Chrome — we're doomed!).
Fix that and we defeat most potential security issues — but that means that some corporation loses its edge, so the solution they always offer is increasing the granularity of isolation: let's make everything a container, then let's make everything in it also a container — a container of containers. The overhead? No problem — buy new hardware, that would make using the containers more bearable!

In other words, I agree with you. I think… If I got your reply right 😅

@m0xEE @mia tbh the only reason anyone would be bothered by speculative execution bugs on a desktop would be (a) downloading random shit off the internet and running it thoughtlessly or (b) downloading random shit off the internet and running it thoughtlessly As A Service™ (tons of javascript nobody asked for)
