This is true and not true at the same time. It's true in the sense that we spend an obscene amount of money on killing machines. And, that the entire US economy and political system exists as a dictatorship of capital and to uphold that dictatorship (at the expense of virtually everyone else). However, the military industrial complex in question is really what's propping up the US economy and maintaining dominance of the USD. Otherwise, the economy would probably collapse because the USD would become worthless and we'd never be able to provide a functional healthcare system therein anyway.
