@fiore @mia i was about to join someone else's fedi minecraft server but that server is with mods on 1.7.10 and... unpatched log4j, using explicitly blacklisted outdated security algorithms, and the solution is to "use windows and enable the outdated algorithms"... and then mia just hosted a luanti server 3

@dagda @fiore @mia luanti/formerly minetest is a minecraft-like voxel engine. voxelibre is a game(modpack) of it, that tries to stay as close to minecraft as it gets.

@lucy @fiore @mia isn't the programming interface Lua-based or something? blobcatthink

@dagda @fiore @mia yeah it is which is why it's rather easy to write mods

@mia @lucy @fiore
pointer mode or the wii remote plus gyro?

@dagda @lucy @fiore doesn’t really matter as far as games are concerned because you can use anything as either absolute or relative input if you want to

@lucy @dagda @fiore i only have a bare wiimote so i used the accelerometer plus IR cursor

@mia @lucy @fiore i mean there's huge qualitative differences because the sensor bar pointers suck for anything but railshooters (God I love Sin & Punishment on Wii).
And as far as Gyro goes translating it to mouse input is usually the best way to go. Flick Stick is also kind of a pain to setup manually so there's Steam Input and JoyShockMapper. Maybe JoyShockMapper even just werkz I could try it out

@dagda @mia @fiore @lucy metroid prime with pointer controls was great, apologize or feel the banhammer snacks

@snacks @fiore @lucy @mia it werkz but only because of the tab targeting and the gamecube tank controls kinda blew so it was substantially better still.
You could consider it more immersive than gyro tho as you actually need to hold a pointer while aiming in first person, because contrary to what many mouse supremacists believe you barely need motion for gyro if the sensitivity is right
