Never played Silent Hill but just saw the trailer for the newest upcoming game. Looking real good.
Weebs will love this one in particular, since it's set in Japan and the protagonist is a Japanese schoolgirl... That sounds really stupid now that I type it out but it looks well done. She's not kawaii uguu or anything.

funnily enough my absolute favorite horror game is Fatal Frame 2 for the Wii (Project Zero in EU). It's also the "girls experience the horrors" trope but the lore and atmosphere really goes under the skin. I usually don't even consider most horror games scary in the least but this one is something else. The controls on Wii suck tho, consider setting up dolphin with replacements for motion controls for this one

@dagda I can't handle horror at all (according to my girlfriend: because I'm gay) so I definitely won't be playing any of these.

The main thing I can't handle is the suspense leading up to a potential jump scare, and jump scares themselves.
Everything else is fine really, although some extreme forms of suffering a la "New French Extremity" kinda offend me. I really hate "torture porn" as a concept, although I could watch it. I'll just get really angry while watching. Except if the person suffering deserved it, but even then it often goes too far.
