To be real my main problem with yuri is that most of it is just traumacore.
It's just a total inversion of Mannerbund, which is fascist-leaning male homosexuality exclusively categorized by the absence and disgust of the feminine and passive.
Now with yuri you can't fail to notice that it's mostly propagated by people socialized male that long for absolute unconditional affirmation and safety. It's unhealthily fixated on the motherly archetype psychoanalytically speaking.
Sexual tension and polarity demands some kind of civilized and negotiated power imbalance where the active part is intrusive but knows constraint, while the passive part is receptive of the intrusion but still "patriarchal" enough to assert it's limits. Both mannerbunds and absolute absence of the masculine (not biologically, but in terms of sexual desire) are asexual in nature.
