@creamqueen hey if a mechanic friend removed the hose that goes to the heater core when my heater core blew up does that mean that the water isnt cycling back to the head like in this picture. there was no bypass or anything he just removed the hose clamp and ive been driving like that since last year. my head gasket blew up i think cuz im not seeing a leaking hose...

@meso radiator hoses and water pump cycle through head. Ive bypassed my heater core before. It just uses pressure to cycle. All this means is your system now needs less coolant and you won't have heat anymore.

@meso as long as the hose is plugged off it will be fine

@meso if your head gasket belw up you would be blowing white sweet smelling smoke out the exhaust and your engine oil would look like a chocolate milkshake

@meso @creamqueen I don't think the heater core is critical for circulation, the water pump will handle it regardless. If you have a blown gasket you should have white smoke out the tailpipe and fucked up oil.

@creamqueen yeah but we didnt bypass it the guy just fucking disconnected the hose thats not bypassing...

@creamqueen all my fucking antifreeze drained off behind the engine it drained on the bell casing and just dripped from there. and oil light is more powerful now
