One problem flat earth theory solves well is the problem of time zones. They simply don't exist in that model which is a good thing.

@phnt we shouldn't have time zones on the round earth either, just have the same time everywhere and everyone get used to what the numbers mean in different time zones

@bajax That's very Russia brained where trains all operate on Moscow time I think.

@phnt There are obviously great sky moths that go in circles around the lämp and block the light reaching the Earth causing night to happen

@desea My pet peeve isn't about converting time for timezones but the fact that there isn't a single day/night cycle worldwide. Half the world is awake when I sleep and that causes issues if I want to catch something.

@desea @phnt "what time is it now in bumfuckistan" vs. "at what time people usually get up in nowhereville" yeah very different sure

@phnt @desea time used to be calibrated for each town and polity based on when the sun was at the absolute highest point in the sky-- that would become noon. back then there wasn't widespread fast communication or automation that could make such universal time feasible. now that we can fease it, something something intertia tradition etc
