I thought this was just an autism thing. Was relieved when everyone in the comments said "I do this" only to remember everyone here is autistic

@RustyCrab
I mean, where would a non-autistic person put it?

Ahh well, you just clean the spoon, and set it back with the other cooking tools...

Niggers have never heard of a spoon rest.

@hazlin @dagda my mom always sat the nasty ass spoon directly on the nasty ass counter

@yomiel literally on the counter directly. That's what my mom did

but what if you are frying multiple things and you don't have time to clean it immediately? Or you need it again in a minute

All that just sounds like a lack of dedication to the process xD

I bet you don't even clean the pots and pans before you eat.

@RustyCrab @dagda @hazlin I do this if I've cleaned and sterilized the counter

sometimes I do if I see they're not flawless.
If they are clean and come from the shelves I don't (but I always check).
Also I usually use single-use gloves to clean stuff because I don't like how dish soap feels on my hands (it's sticky and weird, I want my hands to have completely neutral texture except for maybe normal water)

then it depends on how long it takes till it's done.
I put most stuff (except pans) into the dishwasher anyways

@RustyCrab @yomiel My mom bought me a spoon rest. I never use it. Why would you get one more thing needlessly dirty?

Corner of a napkin, folded paper towel, or balanced on a lid is the proper way.

@RustyCrab I do this because I'm too lazy to buy myself one of those spoon holders.
