@dagda I would argue that "innovators, physicist geniuses, poets, profound philosophical, spiritual, religious thinkers" are often very deliberately celibate.
At least that's how I was in school/university: romance could be fun if it happens, but I'm completely satisfied with this science I'm doing.
I think the main issue with Incels is the involuntary part, and all the bad coping behaviors born from this resentment. (That could be handled more gracefully in a better environment.)

I wonder if they just didn't find a sufficiently geeky partner, or if they had personality issues that made them unpleasant to be around long term.
