I'd say it's fun. Maybe not as fun as dark souls (which i've probably replayed more than demon's souls), but I really enjoy the atmosphere and honestly for their first attempt, it's really good.
have you seen the matthewmatosis video on it (the lost soul arts of demon's souls)? I think that sums up a lot of why demon's souls is really special, especially in comparison to the later games in the souls games by fromsoft.

I'm playing the Remake akshually, I swapped my Switch for a frens PS5 for a while so I can't attest to the sovlfulness of the original but I do enjoy the world design. Open areas with non-reachable horizons really puts a Wiggas imagination to work while still retaining openness and discovery.
I don't have PSplus tho and I have the impression that the online features were designed to communicate the player "hey, theres something new and dangerous ahead, be careful" while in Offline play you just die to $NEWTHING.
If I like it I'll probably play the original on RPCS3 someday.
Also I saw nothing of it before playing, I'm completely blind because the idea of the swap was rather random but it's for the better I think

Yeah, the atmosphere and music is way, way better in the original IMO.
Luckily, it's one of the most optimized games for RPCS3, so I would recommend playing it in the future.

Yeah, that's a shame. I didn't play it online either, so it's not that hard or anything, but it's definitely supposed to be part of the experience.
Online was free on PS3, but I didn't play it anywhere near release, I think the servers were already shut down by the time I first played it.
