@kaia hope it's something good and not just a spray can of WD40 :D

@bekopharm @kaia tbh, that would be a good application for wd40. It's mainly for rust protection

@snacks @kaia @bekopharm yea honestly this would be preferable to gun oil which is actually a lubricant

@coolbean @kaia @snacks y'all are killing me.

You *want* that lubricated in the long run.
WD40 is good for cleaning but not for storing *or usage*. It evaporates and leaves the blade exposed to oxygen and humidity resulting in _more_ rust.

Now I don't know how many swords y'all have and how you store them but mine are sitting in the basement, just like my mail and plate parts, and that is a very harsh environment for metal. This isn't modern stainless steel. WD40 would kill that stuff!

@bekopharm @coolbean @kaia wd40 doesn't evaporate wtf. It was specifically created to protect metals from corrosion

@bekopharm @kaia @snacks in my mind wd40 is also a decent lubricant which it technically is but i forgot its a short term penetrating oil for loosening up rust-seized parts and removing surface rust not necessarily long term protection

also i do not own any swords as a matter of fact. i wish i did tho a little straight-bladed saber is the thing of my dreams

@coolbean @kaia @snacks mate, do whatever you want with your hardware, idgaf :P

There are so many people that explained this before in far better than my broken Engrish.

Spray all you want. I'll stick with my fancy lubricants.
