@haematophage no offense but using apps that are designed to keep people single for dating is rather silly

@anemone seems like a universally horrible idea and the entire business model is dependant on making sure people stay single

@vriska @anemone my experience is not necessarily that they're trying to keep people single forever because a 0 success rate would ruin their business model quickly. However they are definitely locking you into matching with a certain kind of woman and if that isn't your type you are just shit out of luck forever.

It also doesn't help men's impression that women are all the exact same because on those apps they LITERALLY are. You can swipe for days and see nothing but the exact same cookie cutter language that looks like it was crafted by a PR firm for the most stereotypical basic bitch you've ever seen in your life

@RustyCrab @anemone if everyone using dating apps gets dates no one is using the app. the success rate is probably by design less than 1%

@vriska ok so you're just a negative bitch instead of like someone pointing out a problem with a society that has found a way to relegate human connection to freemium services on pain of ostracism and humiliation if you try to avoid using them

I was dating my wife before tinder existed. I didnt have the unpleasant experience of dealing with them and always thought they were retarded. Yeah this company that relies on single people paying premium to get extra matches really wants you off the dating market.

100% the naming full out admits its not to find someone its to date.

Many get dates not relationships. I bet there's like 70% chance you'd get a date that just doesn't develop anywhere 99% of the time. Enough "success" to make you doubt yourself & the "candidate" instead of the doom-swiping app

@eris @vriska @anemone Vriska seems to think the only definition of success is getting married by the end of it which yeah okay maybe in the grand scheme of things but that's not even a realistic bar these days

i love the commodification of human affection and courting into an amazon style meat market people can endlessly doomscroll through trying to stimulate a drop of dopamine out of their fried neurotransmitters i love doing a LinkedIn style branding for myself but instead of professional i try to make myself seem ultra worldy and mysterious (but totally loves food and travel!) and not simply ready to drive my car into a highway overpass support at 10,000 mph
