ahem: so while cleaning i accidentally unplugged my computer and since then my my btc5349 keyboard running through a din to ps/2 adapter stopped being recognised (despite the lock indicator leds flashing at boot indicating its getting power) both in the os and bios

any ideas for what i could try? ive kinda run out of ideas because every attempt to troubleshoot this yielded absolutely nothing

i wish this keyboard had a dip switch to let me manually choose between xt and at protocols because while automatic selection has worked fine so far im afraid it might not be anymore

@coolbean do you have abother pc with ps/2 port to try? Also, is the adapter active or passive

@snacks adapter is passive the at protocol is forwards compatible with ps/2 they just switched from a din to a micro-din connector

and no i do not because the universe hates good keyboard protocols

@snacks i do have 2 486 at machines that should work without the adapter but those spent the past 20 odd years in the attic so im afraid getting them to work might be a bit of a challenge in and of itself
