There's a shitload of jobs that are materially useless in nature or survival scenarios, many jobs in capitalism that exist to solve made-up problems or problems that solely exist because selling solution makes profits. Any job or skill that can't be useful in a survivalist scenario is fundamentally useless, as it relies in many layers of civilization to even exist in the first place.

If culture and education wasn't complete shit you could argue that even though the pencil pusher does that for a living at least he has good formation on other essential skills, such as first aid or carpentry, but nope, you're not taught self-sufficient and useful skills in western schools nowadays, because being independent as an individual de-legitimizes the State, and the State wants dependent slaves, not useful people.
