it really helps if you try to remember passwords instead of just trying to type them from muscle memory lmao

@stag @meeper @mer modifiers, space and enter on the thumb clusters, tab, esc, backspace and a 2nd enter are homerow chords

@twinspin6 @fiore consider memorizing it in your spine instead of your language center

@snacks @fiore your spine does not speak all keyboard layouts

@snacks @fiore i mean you're mostly fine if your keyboard is set to US

@snacks @meeper @mer that doesnt look that awful actually… if it had a number row. typing them and symbols must suck

@stag @meeper @mer half the symbols on a regular keyboard are already on a layer, as well as all uppercase letters. Not to mention that modifiers are much morecomfortable once your thumbs are responsible for them

@stag @meeper @mer don't really get why people think layers are hard. And if you commit to just putting all symbols on layers you can make stuff like braces nicely organized and have the most used ones close to the homerow

@snacks @meeper @mer i think it just makes using some software awkward

like if i’m playing minecraft i dont wanna layer shift to switch items

@stag @snacks @meeper mfw french people have had to layer switch in games with fucky azerty support for ages

@stag @meeper @mer games always require a bunch of fuckery because i was using a very different layout even before switching to a split ergo

@snacks @meeper @mer but like… you’re just missing a bunch of keys. isn’t it hard to play realtime games without quick access to those hotkeys

@stag @meeper @mer depends on the game. If i need enough hotkeys i pull out a regular keyboard but that's mostly league vut thatcs in part due to muscle memory too i think
