There are so many cool opportunities out there and things I'd like to do but there's so little time to do them

I wish I could have five parallel versions of myself to do them all; they all want young people and I won't be <40 forever

Maybe will be possible if/when anti-senescence drugs become a thing

You can literally get paid to become a pilot in exchange for a few years of indenture to an airline

@RustyCrab @scathach yes, but less so compared to other meatballs on here. But I do have hereditary arthrosis from my mom, and I guess stuff is accentuated due to the stress problems and being a cancer survivor from a young age

@RustyCrab I'm not, it's just that a lot of the careers I find interesting have upper age cutoffs and no matter what I won't be able to try them all just because there isn't enough time

@scathach I don't think adiz particularly likes being one, but you can ask him

@scathach @RustyCrab age cut offs are just ways to keep supply low, mostly nothing to do with age.

@genmaicha I think I'd quickly grow to hate working as a pilot but I've also wanted to be able to fly for as long as I can remember so it's probably worth some drudgery

@scathach @genmaicha over here the small plane licenses are surprisingly cheap, a few thousand €. planes are shit expensive though, cheapest option is the paraglider stuff.

@bonifartius @genmaicha Yeah, ultralight planes don't cost much more than a car and class A licenses to fly them are easy to get but they require a lot of expensive upkeep plus a runway, I'd like to buy one eventually but probably won't be able to any time in the forseeable future
