I want to play Minecraft, but I don't want to play vanilla Minecraft. I want to play heavily modded 1.7 or 1.12. Something like FTB Infinity Evolved (my favourite pack.)
Thing is, last time I tried to get a server together for fedi people, only one or two ever joined because everyone else lost their Minecraft account a long time ago. I'm not sure I have the technical wherewithal to run a server (especially a heavily modded one) that allows pirates to join but is also secure.

@twinspin6 Well, this is expert mode, so there IS an insane learning curve. But on normal mode, FTB:IE is just a huge kitchen sink pack with basically every 1.7 mod in it. It's not like gregtech or whatever, a person could just ignore whatever they didn't want to do. (Last time I had a successful server with it on, a lot of people chose to "just do botania" or "just make pretty things" or whatever, and I took pride in supplying such people with resources that were the fruit of extensive technical play)
