Not that i'm complaining since i wanna just run ac into that but still

did you know that most pc psus run just fine on dc voltage?

@snacks no, but I usually assume that most chargers and psus will just deal with whatever electricity I throw at them

@eal @snacks they better
either output correctly or no output

@twinspin6 @snacks @eal somehow "our" product is rated to run on anything ac/dc from 5 to 300 volts

the rectifier in front is just getting a break

Cowinka heart_pride Poníčková, probably not an actual horse

@eal @snacks @twinspin6 no i had to fight to get just one for testing

but apparently it's not super hard, ac you just rectify and then the voltage is also easy downstep

@poni @twinspin6 @eal was wondering if it's just step down. Really not hard to make a psu like that in this case ig

@poni @twinspin6 @eal the buck converter i tried to use for my current project doesn't like the half wave rectifier i put in front of it sadly. Maybe if i throw more capacitance in front of it...

@twinspin6 @poni @eal that'd be over a volt of voltage drop on my 6VAC input tho

@twinspin6 @eal @poni unless i make a full bridge rectifier out of schottky diodes ig
