Bharatiya reservatiom where historically oppressed castes (lots of asterisks here as it isn't exactly the oppression myth everyone says but much more complicated and only made into its worst from by tje british because they thought castes were classist racism and they liked that stuff those days) are given upto like 60% of the seats for a uni meanwhile actually good people get denied meanwhile below 2nd quartilers getting readily acvepted with no effort...

Basically if you try to be a honest good man and get things done meritocratically you get deeply fucked this is (in general) is also why we went from nobel prize winners to do not redeem scammers

@pernia @HatkeshiatorTND india has the worst case version of them.

Seriously if you understand the problems thag plague thjs place you'd be surprised it didnt go DOA failed state .

Also why a lot of folk try to leave but unfortunately turns out the incompetent idiots began to follow as everyone had a good life and they weren't selected against and are already used to abusing the process as a metric of success. (i hate iq as a metric but till like 2012 indians were apparently the highest iq group in the us)

Also since the people who are the best at being shitters are the knes in power and actually capable people are politically powerless were in a horrible catch22 where things just get worse

@pernia @meeper it gets worse.
if they can't fill those reserved seats because nobody applies, those seats just stay empty.
imagine being a general category (high-born) kid and getting rejected from med school and seeing that med schools across the country are sporting 50, 100 vacant seats because not enough dalits even applied.

@HatkeshiatorTND @meeper goddam that sucks.

In here the biggest scam might be like, people pretending to be poor or using connections to recieve assistance. It only hurts poor people, who are a fraction of students, so nobody gives it much thought
