@fiore radicale for dav stuff, syncthing for files (which isn't the same as NC but im willing to adapt)

@autumn my humble sftp share (imean ok it is kinda slow but like also who even cares, if i gotta be faster i can use rsync . or whatever)

@fiore i used that too 😭 only issue is that there isnt a gui way to connect to it on macos but thats whateverrrr i can setup samba if i reaallly wanna

@cody idk ive never rlly liked it in general, its always also been kinda clunky to set up how id want it so ive kinda just stopped bothering, yknow

also it feels very Big

sftp "shares" aren't really a thing in anything other than linux i dont think 😭

@autumn im pretty sure you can do some magic to get it to work on explorer too ?

also like theres definitely some 3rd party file explorer that supports that cmon. like . even just friggin dolphin . does dolphin work on macos

@fiore I use it for sharing photos as I installed it years ago and I'm not spending the (likely much smaller) effort to migrate to something else when some people already have links or accounts for it. (And I'm not sure of a good ready to use replacement.)

For phone contacts I use Radicale, everything else stays on regular computers with proper tools for synchronization (git and git-annex).

I don't like running Nextcloud, it feels too much designed for nation-state-sized deployments.
