I sure love how apps arbitrarily deciding to not send me notifications is actively ruining my social life. I missed multiple opportunities to hang out with friends because of that just in the past week, and this is on top of rarely getting to see them in the first place.

Fuck phones and fuck "apps" and fuck non-deterministic UX. I never had this problem 20 years ago. When I wanted push notifications, I got push notifications. Not 2% of the time like on smartphones or modern desktop OSes, but 100% of the time. Why is it so hard to just respect user settings? And you know the really funny part? Junk apps never seem to fail to flood your notifications with useless garbage despite you turning that shit off. But the apps you actually need? They'll only notify you once during a full orbital period of Neptune because fuck you that's why.

Going to throw all of my electronics in the trash can and set it on fire, then move into a cabin in the woods and live out the rest of my life in perfect isolation from the rest of the world. Society is a scam.

@VIPPER@new.asbestos.cafe fuck push services. The best they're good for is sending unwanted advertizement.

Do you know how I improved my life exponentially? By not using a goyphone and getting a dumbphone instead. Now when friends want to hang out they have to call me, and if I miss a call it's because I want to.

Leave the one you use right now somewhere in a corner to do that, and get a dumb/"feature" phone for thirty bucks, then you tell all your relatives and friends that your phone is broken and you got a dumb phone because you're tired of distractions.
