@WandererUber bsd is faster for a lot of stuff. windows has a faster UI. haven't watched the video because linux torvalds never says anything interesting.

@lain GNU HURD would be considerably faster, especially seeing that GNU+Linux is Slop now (not GNU, just Linux)

@lain Okay, I'm not too familiar with BSD, but how does windows have a faster UI? They put javascript in the start menu... iminsane

@lain @snacks but now we're getting into the nitty-gritty of userland, which in both cases is not made by either Linus nor Microsoft ('s kernel team)
I don't think that's much to go off to support "Windows UI is faster"

@WandererUber @lain @snacks windows phone was really nice though and I don't compliment Microsoft easily. I remember trying a final beta of Windows 7 and it was so good. They made a good os and then loaded it with goyslop for final release. Many such cases.
