when a girl is socially oblivious and naïve to her detriment, she's ditzy.
when a girl is assertive or particular and enjoys schedules and logic, she's got moxie or is a control freak.
when a girl overthinks social situations or has generalized anxiety and worry to an extreme level, she's shy.
when a girl takes things too literally, she's a smartass.
when a girl has eccentric beliefs or interests and a strong moral compass, she's quirky and stubborn.

it's not even like any of these perceptions are terrible, it just goes to show that with a little inherent charm you can get away with being however you want. The eye contact thing makes people surprisingly upset, though.

@npc alone, all of these things can be true, together, she has autism. It's just supposed to highlight how people can dismiss very obvious issues in a person by attributing an appropriate personality trait to such. Someone asked me a question about the difference in symptom expression for ladies and while there are some actual function differences, a lot of it is social perception. Worst part about this thought exercise, is, it doesn't actually matter. I should be doing something else.

@f0x maybe it's my own experience being in a relationship with a mentally ill woman talking, but i'm sure there are people out there who are capable of appreciating how complicated a human person is without just giving up and assigning the appropriate labels. if social media doesn't turn everyone into completely unfeeling psychopaths anyway.

@shibao the nature of what it means to be female psychologically is so fucked, it's really frustrating, and because of how the pendulum swings all the scientific papers on it are totally fucking retarded and not helpful;

Yes being female is different than being male, yes there are physical and neurological differences, no, neither party will stop lying about what those differences objectively are. You are totally fucking alone in figuring out how *you* work. Good luck.

@npc I also think a lot of the things people view as neurological conditions are actually just normal variations of what being human with a neural network can mean. Like, issues with input like photophobia, agoraphobia, loud and claustrophobia inducing places like crowds, issues with tactile sensation particularity, issues with tying oneself to time outside of your own habits, these are genuine neurological issues/inconveniences that can prohibit you from functioning within the realm of normalcy (if you ignore the fact that we are supposed to function in groups, and while independence is the goal we obviously cannot do everything ourselves, not even mentioning the religious belief that you are literally half a person and some level of dependency to distribute the many tasks life demands of you between wife and husband is normal and fine and in our nature), and, like, there are some instances where ones inability to read social situations can be real and really annoying or bad, but otherwise, outside of those actual issues, a lot of... "yeah society sucks and for some reason half of our practices are based on lies, because people don't actually have social structure, they just have 'path of least resistance', and it's *normal* to take the path of least resistance, and if you don't you're weird and will be ousted from our terrible social system, and we've made it so the only way to succeed is by staying within it."

It's a very confusing 'social ecosystem' out there.

conclusion, while class 1 does exist, it is annoying that a lot of things I think are reasonable are actually reasons why I don't integrate with society well. And that I likely will always have these issues with society for the rest of my life, which will affect my ability to function within ±without seeming odd.

@shibao there are routes one ought to take for infertility but, in application, where due to nature of man sin is normalcy, this is what happens typically, yes.
1

@f0x yes but i was arguing that if people are able to reproduce then anything other than celibacy or the path towards a monogamous relationship is degenerate. the exception is if there is no avenue available here. and it's not his responsibility to verify every single possible woman is viable, a guy who is shipped off to a new city every day across the country by his job isn't morally bad because he isn't on tinder or whatever. A man chasing a twink when he could be chasing a woman is degenerate, but if there's literally no woman interested i him then it's not his responsibility to ask every woman for permission so he can fuck a twink. if he's fertile then the twink would instantly become degenerate if a woman becomes interested in him at all. idk why this is so controversial
3

0
@f0x if someone is gay then they're considered infertile for the purposes of degeneracy or not because he is claiming that he is incapable of entering into wedlock aka a healthy environment for a child, and only him and god knows how authentic he is being. i think second order effects have moral consequences but they don't have any bearing whether something is moral or immoral or not

@subnetter @shibao not surprising given it's a role that kind of demands celibacy, and not everyone is fit for that, especially with how many roman catholic priests are needed? It's just impossibke to find that many people who are fit for the role

@f0x @shibao gay men are not exactly known for being celibate

Catholicism is unique in the sense that it wants their gays to stay in the closet despite the historical documentation of gay priests and nuns.

@f0x basically under my moral framework, twinks are as degenerate as being emotionally invested in a vtuber. the determination of degeneracy is whether women are still available regardless of the practical consideration of how public they are making known their singleness is. I'm sure some white nationalists would say that any unpaired white male that isn't spending his entire savings on billboards until he has a white wife is unethical but i disagree with that. i know that's a strawman but still

@subnetter @shibao this doesn't really make sense to me. I think you misunderstood what I meant. I do agree that Catholics do not handle gays properly where, they think not acting on it suddenly fixes it, or in more extreme cases, that abuse somehow fixes it. What I said is that, if you demand a man to be celibate, a trial not for everyone, it's rather inevitable that some will become sexual deviants. Same with nuns.

@f0x we were having a discussion about morality and ethics and @subnetter commented on what happens in reality. but they're not connected. ironically catholics say that natural law (and thus what happens in reality) impacts morality which I don't agree with, but I think it was implicit that I'm not catholic

@f0x @shibao I don't subscribe to the worldview that being gay makes you a sexual deviant. Yes, I think sexual repression can allow for deviancy, but that doesn't necessarily imply homosexuality.

I've known all sorts of religious people with deviant fetishes and desires growing up in the church, none which involved homosexuality.

@shibao you're wrong that being gay means infertile, but you're right that forcing a gay guy to 'stop' and enter wedlock is not a healthy situation either. I don't know the answer to it but I wouldn't be so quick to say that God can "know his authenticity", he explicitly states that it's a sin. How exactly to fix this, I'm unsure. I think he can know his struggle, if that's what you mean by know his authenticity, but I imagine he must be trying to fix it.
2

@f0x I think that theoretically forcing a gay guy to stop isn't just unhealthy but is degenerate. catholics and orthodox can argue that because natural law or god's will or whatever exists independent of reality that involuntary action of forcing someone who wasn't actually gay into a straight relationship maybe would be fine because they would realize they weren't gay and it would all be fine. i think that is only valid if you were explicitly told by god, if you're operating without that divine inspiration then you're just thinking that something is the case or trying to gamble on what you think would decrease degeneracy in the world which is degenerate in itself. and that's besides the fact of having the arrogance to act on god's behalf. I think it's telling that leviticus doesn't just say having sex with another man, but having sex with another man as with a woman, if god wanted to correct me then maybe

i've also said this before but if protestants actually believe that god is the same god as the old testament then I feel like there should be a lot less "he explicitly states that it's a sin" and more this is what xyz states and this is what makes sense in morality even without needing a biblical worldview and cross god at your own risk

@f0x @shibao >neither party will stop lying about what those differences objectively are
this screwed me over a lot when I was young. not just about the difference between sexes, but everything. what we should be doing, what was fair between people, and very often it came down to how it was foolish to act morally. all the time I'd see stuff, intelligently written, making blanket statements about what people were like, why they acted how they did, and looking back I just didn't realize that it was all bullshit-- so I spent a LOT of time trying to reconcile everything I'd been fed-- I'd find myself thinking in a different completely incompatible framework sometimes each day. not even "reliable" scientific publications were immune to this, and often ended up leading me down the same kinds of rabbit holes that ended up leading to elegant- and correct-looking worldviews that just ended up having damning flaws.

it didn't start in psychology for me but it's why I became so interested in it. I spent a lot of time trying to fit myself into typologies and temperaments etc etc etc. trying to figure out why things weren't working.

took me way too long to realize that often times people don't tell you what's true from their point of view, only what they *want* to be true. this didn't help me figure out what's actually going on, but it did give me a heuristic to use to figure out when someone's lying, and what the shape of that lie might be. It also helped me realize that a lot of the stuff I thought I had learned, sometimes going way back to when I was little, I just had to discard entirely.

this was made easier for me because a lot of the stuff I'd "learned" was nihilistic blackpill shit. but I *have* seen people end up happy, I *have* seen virtue and goodness and stuff like that be rewarded. so it was freeing too.

maybe we just live in an exceptionally bad time for clear thinking. lots of people with lots of different incentives to give wrong explanations. tldr I relate to what you're going through. I'm not beyond it myself I still do this kind of thing a lot. hoping this helps-- or maybe "helps" is too strong a word. but just saying I'm in it too. maybe most people are, in different ways, it's just overwhelming to think about, so they just pick one of these frameworks to live in and avoid looking too far outside it.

hope this was relevant rofl

@bajax @f0x @subnetter i think I misread what was posted, but pedantically, I was talking about what is degenerate, not generating, which stops reproduction and everything. maybe people who are faggots encourage more faggotry in the world but I have more strict causality for morality. Quick strawman, if I have 20 billion people trying to get me to do something and only one of me but I choose to do something, it's not automatically all their fault or mostly their fault. it's all my fault imo but we can have that discussion

pedantically again deviancy by itself is a different conversation, you can have deviations of straight relationships but if they are generating then they may not be degenerate. it's pedantics but they are very different things to me

To believe this you need to practice historical revisionism and you need to pigeonhole yourself to specific cultures and pretend that twinks weren't popular with the Greeks. I'm pretty certain that my culture was a lot more lax and open to homosexuality pre-colonialism as well.

@subnetter @f0x @shibao honestly not interested in this argument. it's gonna hinge on assertions about how widespread homosexuality was in those cultures, and arbitrary definitions of what "deviant" even means (which I'd assert you're being overly narrow on for political reasons-- "oh if it happened at all in history it's normal, not deviant!" when my best point in that argument is going to be something about supporting the continuation of the species-- which you're gonna point out doesn't require marriage and then I'd need to go into an explanation of the ecological reasons marriage is kind of essential to the current iteration of our species and you'd say that that organization isn't necessary and I'd assert that it is and on and on it goes). also it's only your leftist/marxist/materialist ilk that even take offense at homosexuality being called deviant so maybe we can just agree to disagree here.

Once again a whole lot of assumptions about what I believe (you could ask), while I don't necessarily need to assume that your views on morality are heavily based on a Christian nationalism, since you've essentially told us.

If you're arguing about supporting the continuation of the human species, then I'm not sure how marriage, a social contract, falls into that (unless you're arguing from your religious viewpoint). I also find it strange that we're all discussing as if plenty of gays and lesbians have not had children throughout history. A considerable amount of gay people I've met and known do have children, via natural means through previous relationships prior to coming out, or through other arrangements.

@f0x i will say my life has greatly improved just by not fighting it as much. like i can't express my unironic political opinions around anyone that i know irl, but stuff like eye contact, talking too slow, etc. i just kind of stopped worrying about, at least when i'm with people who know me. i worry about being inauthentic as an artist, and if i don't integrate with society well then that just is how it is, but i don't think any world-ending disaster would happen if people would just be true to their authentic selves in most cases. that's partially why i quit having a day job and went freelance full time, and why i'm trying to start a film studio for people who just want to be creative. idk, i'm an artist and a sentimentalist at heart, i'm too italian for this world

@subnetter @f0x @shibao monogamous marriage is essential because the alternative fucks up the power dynamics in society to the point it can't sustain itself and collapses. notice I said the reasons it was best are ecological?

the main reason it's better than the alternatives is that it keeps individual men invested in society, interested in putting their full effort into maintaining and improving it. that every woman is (nominally) guaranteed to have one man she can rely on for resources is significant, but women also do often band together to assist each other in raising children so it's less of a factor, at least in warmer climates.

the alternative is a tournament mating system where only the "best" few men mate with all the women. the rest of them will have no reason to do anything besides commit violence in order to try and rise in society or just fuck off into the wilderness and fend only for themselves.

@f0x @shibao if someone is gay then the first answer is to remain celibate/stop participating in it, you don't have to be gay to pursue celibacy, for example priesthood.

in my mind it's not very dissimilar of someone just staying chaste either because they are not married/divorced/widowed.

a man who used to be in a marriage that ended because of either reason is asked to not marry someone else, which naturally means not having sex anymore.

of course a lot of people will fail, but that's just how it goes, they can ask for forgiveness (not implying it's to be abused, people will be tempted to sin, it is what it is, and as long as repentance is genuine it will be accepted).

the general discussion around this is completely poisoned by modern politics by those who believe "it's totally okay to be gay and participate in it", and those who believe that gay people will inherently automatically go to hell for having that attraction.

tl;dr, straight people are also asked to not participate in it, some asked to just remain celibate their whole lives, i don't really see why it can't be applied to gay people the same way.

@f0x @shibao >homosexual attraction being rooted in having an oversexual system

hmm first i heard of that, can't say too much since i didn't do much research, but i do think every human suffers from one category of sin more than the other always.

everyone will trip up and fall during their path of overpowering that temptation, but it's that pursuit that is inherently good and justified, and as long as they keep up and try, they are justified (this is something i do have to constantly hammer into myself, so i understand).

you can't expect perfection, especially with the sin of lust.

you notice that those who tend to condemn it the most (to the point of committing heresy) tend to be the most guilty, trying to make their own lust seem "less" sinful, they are just tricking themselves really.
