@lizzie Fair enough, I expect the Nazis because Neo-Nazis are usually millennial trailer trash, but Neo-Confederates are typically boomers and I always forget that *some* boomers are actually *really good* with computers since my job at the parish typically involves reminding the boomer priests what a "cursor" is.

@NotAFemboy oh yeah the boomer contingent on here is real. their instances feel like museums. they all just kinda incoherently talk at each other in a language that resembles english but clearly contains some information to them that doesn’t lie in english sentence structures

@lizzie My grandma probably would have known about Fedi, she always kinda shocked me about how computer literate she was (then I found out she was like... one of the head programmers for one of the major insurance companies in Des Moines all through the 70s) she kinda went full "idk what a windows is" during her last battle with cancer, but that's to be expected.

@lizzie Seems like math kinda runs in the family, one of our mutual friends found out I was actually really good at math and wants me to go back to college and major math education... I'll consider it, but idk how good I would be with kids.

@KaiserKitty @lizzie Yeah... somehow even though internet porn requires photo ID to view in our state (Fedi is a pretty powerful loophole in that respect) there's a ton of old people who manage to get it on library computers and wind up getting banned from the local libraries. Like... if you're tech literate enough to bypass all those firewalls and get a VPN or whatever onto a public computer... surely you can just download zip files and not alert library staff to the fact that you're a gooner.

@KaiserKitty @lizzie Then again, knowing the ladies that work at the library... they probably installed some absolutely dogshit excuse for a firewall that just requires you to add an "s" to the end of "http" in order to access a blacklisted site like the one they had in my high school.

@KaiserKitty @lizzie I literally only use library computers for printing documents because I don't want to deal with printer bullshit at home. But yeah, it would be interesting to get some kind of IT certification and have a part time job at the library if I decide to go back to college just to see what kind of fuck shit the city came up with for security.
