@Suiseiseki that's not the argument they used. They say those can be converted to hydrogen later on, completely disregarding that that isn't even a form of power generation but storage

@snacks It seems hydrogen is going to embrittle the crap out of a gas turbine unless it's specifically designed for hydrogen (high enough heat can keep hydrogen out of metal that is prone to hydrogen embrittlement, but I doubt all of the piping and all of the turbine will get hot enough).
If you want to use hydrogen energy storage, it only makes sense to use fuel cells, as those are significantly more efficient than gas turbines.
