@ug @technicallydifficult filial piety is right for the human heart 🙏🙏🙏. of course punishment may be necessary but governance must act to guide the heart rather than treat it with mere suspicion and cruelty 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

@lizzie @technicallydifficult i mean a lot of people died because of this shit, but thats just chinese history in general. chinese people dying en-masse due to absolutely ridiculous reasons is probably the most consistent aspect of history in general (see: the 'eliminate sparrows' campaign during the great leap forward)

@technicallydifficult @lizzie it was in the soviet union's best interest to put someone ill equipped in power and given the situation he was put in he really did make the best of it

@coolbean @technicallydifficult @bea14s @lizzie @ophis I actually *don't* care for key lime. It's way too sour and hurts my face.

@coolbean @bea14s @lizzie @ophis @technicallydifficult It's kind of one of those "love it or hate it" desserts, no one thinks key lime is "mid"

@technicallydifficult @bea14s @coolbean @lizzie @ophis I think I'm pretty European about sweets come to think of it. American stuff hurts my gut, too much dairy, too strong of flavors, too large of portions. The little tiramisu squares (at Chinese restaurants funny enough) is about as intense as I can handle without pain. I mostly just have a single cookie after a meal.

@coolbean @bea14s @lizzie @ophis @technicallydifficult I mean, weak digestion is kind of a north European trait. I've been accused of being Jewish by many an Anglo.

@NotAFemboy @bea14s @lizzie @ophis @technicallydifficult i do mess up my gut pretty good rather frequently

but dairy is an odd one cause like... europeans are basically the only ones on planet earth that are lactose tolerant

@technicallydifficult @NotAFemboy @bea14s @lizzie @ophis acidity fucks me up good yea. energy drinks and coffee give me horrible stomach aches

@coolbean @technicallydifficult @bea14s @lizzie @ophis Weirdly enough, being Dutch makes coffee almost *essential* to have non-painful BMs lol. I actually think the lactose intolerance comes from the indigenous ancestry since mom didn't really have problems with lactose until she got old, me and dad basically always had issues with dairy.

@technicallydifficult @NotAFemboy @bea14s @lizzie @ophis citrus has been fine for me weirdly. like ok if i overdo it with citrus juice i can get a stomach ache but its nowhere as fast or severe as coffee

@technicallydifficult @bea14s @coolbean @lizzie @ophis I don't really have any food allergies, but plenty of things are just like "I want to eat it, but it will hurt me"

@technicallydifficult @bea14s @coolbean @lizzie @ophis I'd try it, I've liked the few things I've tried from Eastern Europe, especially borscht (I'm not beating the Jew allegations).

@coolbean @NotAFemboy @bea14s @lizzie @ophis @technicallydifficult depending on the variety of borscht i can like or dislike it but i will never say a bad thing about chłodnik. perfect food for pinkwormers

@coolbean @bea14s @emiliamicrosystems @lizzie @ophis @technicallydifficult Most of what we get in the west is *garnished* with *sour cream* rather than cooked with heavy whipping cream like it is in Ukraine.

@technicallydifficult @bea14s @coolbean @emiliamicrosystems @lizzie @ophis I'll have to ask my friend who's more active in the nation if Choctaw have any sort of words like this, I imagine we do, but we've always been a little less organized than the Cherokee. It's not exactly *strange* to find a few of us living in somewhere without the slightest knowledge that we aren't white (even some of my more darkly complected family members were a bit surprised that it wasn't just a really good tan).
