@shibao there are EPA minimum standards for all fuels. companies can voluntarily toss more additives in but who the fuck knows what they actually end up doing. it costs them essentially nothing yet commands some sort of "premium" feel-good self masturbatory feeling on the average consumer who probably also tosses 93 in their car because "well it must be better for it!"

@shibao well see the funnier part is that engine is carbureted and the only time this will actually supposedly do anything is in fuel injected vehicles without parallel port injection to wash the valves. i was more interested in the bolt tests and stuff.
the conclusion is maybe just dump a $10 bottle of injector cleaner in once in a while instead of paying yet another gas tax.

@7666 yeah that's what i do personally. i'm fancy on my motorcycle, i only do non-ethanol gas in there mostly cuz if there's a period where I don't run it for a while, i don't want the ethanol to separate out, but also it will not eat up my fuel lines as much in theory. but most people don't need to worry about it because cars are some of the best engineered items we make

@shibao it takes me 3 hours and about a full tank of gas to mow the lawn on a 54" riding mower (top boomer) there ain't no way an electric one is gonna make it
