@snowy no idea about bike wremching back then but the metal bit seemed to fulfill the role of rim tape. Pressure was like 4-5 bar

@snowy iirc the whole wheel failed, not sure if it happened because the tube exploded kr the other way around

@snowy it was between rim and tube, not part of the tire, and there was no other rim tape

@snowy also, that rear tire failed a lot, i think that setup with the metal strip was just cursed
