@mrsaturday @coolboymew @sun the other problem is that internet artists want to be in the "big club", especially the animators who either want to be picked up by a studio or by some outfit like Glitch Productions.
They're worried about offending other people like that and especially the big wigs. Nevermind the fact that social media isn't like Furaffinity/NG where the admins have "skin in the game" with regards to online community drama.
@mrsaturday @coolboymew @sun Oh for sure, it's even worse with the ones who can't handle when the hordes raid their images with dumbass gifs and they're ill-equipped to handle it. Of course, that was also a problem going back to the DeviantArt age, a lot of people trolled people on that site by saying "your art is shit" or "fuckin weird bro".
@mrsaturday @coolboymew @sun Also I should add something else: internet artists are petty and spiteful towards anyone who even gets too successful in that sphere and might have stepped on some people along the way.
Look at Vivziepop, many of the people who shit on her do it because she managed to break out of that scene. There's some valid reasons to shit on her or her work, but they've been overshadowed by the BlueSky people screeching at her wishing that they could be in her shoes with a big name production.
Or how a problematic artist who drew edgy shit a few years ago will always have someone tagging along every time someone features his art to dump the Google Doc/screenshots. To them, it's no different than an artist actually doing heinous shit.
@mrsaturday @coolboymew @sun Then on the other hand you have the right-wing sphere which either makes obvious political shit (see: Vox Day, the Comicsgate bunch), or something mid-at-best. Some of them are retired and only decided to be chuddy after they moved on from the industry, but their creative output isn't the same as it was back in the day. What has Marty O Donnell done since being the Halo OST guy, or the Earthworm Jim guy?
It makes artists who want to be chuddy have a uphill battle because they are not going to get the same amount of money or e-fame they would be if they said the lines or even stayed silent. I've seen in chats "struggle artists" as I call them lament this and basically admit that they went left wing because nobody on the right would lift a finger, and they felt as if they would make more money/be more talked about if they went the other way.
That's not counting the artists who refuse to try because they feel that the tim heideckers and blockhead joes of the world are going to gatekeep them at any turn. World Peace flaming out was a huge blackpill, and people were split on if that interview was either Sam nuking his chances of being famous or the showbiz version of the KLF Grindcore award show concert. Even 10+ years later, I still feel this blackpilling mindset going on.
Nobody ever breaks down those events of people getting canceled like the Air Crash Investigation show or the USCSB YouTube channel. Instead they think that anything that happens is a result of the powers that be trying to keep someone they liked down. For every person saying Sam needed a tard wrangler/PR guy to keep him from stunts like the interview or powerleveling on Twitter, there were people who were also convinced it was solely Adult Swim trying to stop him.
@sun @coolboymew @mrsaturday Vox Day did have a publishing company and he also was in an electronic music group in the 90s, best known for having one of the guys in it make the songs for Marathon 2/Infinity.
@sun @coolboymew @mrsaturday https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZEK8kAhV9s he appears in this video btw
@coolboymew @mrsaturday @sun The thing with Smiling Friends is while I've never seen it, it did reference a lot of weird parts of internet culture.
I'm talking appearances by people like Doug Walker or Perry Caravello.
@amerika @coolboymew @mrsaturday @sun what do you think of vivek giving himself an october surprise?
@amerika @coolboymew @mrsaturday @sun GOP diversity hire candidate from India who has been booed at rallies, shit on by everyone on Twitter, and recently decided to run a campaign ad that backfired so dramatically that he's been getting community noted.
@amerika @coolboymew @mrsaturday @sun oh it gets worse, a while back he tweeted that Americans were lazy and all. The backlash he got was immense. There was a rival campaign ad where they actually had Ohio workers reading this tweet out loud. He is probably the biggest political grifter to exist in politics and he's in my state 💀

@amerika @coolboymew @mrsaturday @sun And sleeping on cultural stuff too, while bitching that everything is libtard propaganda
@Hoss @amerika @coolboymew @mrsaturday @sun he's doubling down on this btw he's going to get fucked so hard it's going to sound like a call center
@MalibuSunrise @nerthos @sun straight men are incapable of telling the difference between sexy and attractive
@coolboymew @sun
In fairness, the one in the top left of the grid appears to be a CG for a specific bath scene, her regular portrait isn't too weird. The one in the bottom left is also cute.
The ones on the right are definitely lesbian-esque though, especially the bottom right.
@sun @coolboymew
I get what you mean, sorta. The style itself doesn't really evoke much emotion in me, but I can appreciate that it's well made.
@sun @moth_ball think same reason the anime girl is off putting and weird to me is why the hades stuff is to you?
@sun @moth_ball @nerthos I would like the op more if the anime girl example wasn't so repulsive to me
@sun @moth_ball @nerthos there are way better anime girls out there folks. They're not sending their best
@sun @moth_ball @nerthos I'm not even really arguing I'm just saying that specific anime girl pisses me off
@sun @moth_ball @nerthos the stylized sharp teeth and triangle tongue thing bothers me and it's so ubiquitous in low to mid range "sexy anime girl" Canon and the rabbit jammed between her boobs makes me want to punch her
@sun @moth_ball @nerthos i will give her credit though although it's obviously supposed to be "sexy" at least they didn't do the "breasts and ass of a 400 lbs woman on a 90 lbs frame" thing
@nerthos @moth_ball @sun you know the reason they draw them like that is because of Donald ducks influence on early anime right?
@sun @moth_ball @nerthos some of the hentai I see men produce makes me want to make art illegal
@nerthos @moth_ball @sun I mean literally the art style. The boobs larger than her whole body thing. It disgusts me
@sun @moth_ball @nerthos absolutely! Same here. Honestly I was pretty shit at this before I started using your website a decade ago so thanks ^^
@nerthos @moth_ball @sun yeah see what you just posted to me is the exact same feeling I get looking at that anime girl in op. Both of these are equally bad to me
@ageha @moth_ball @nerthos @sun there are hands in that picture?
@nerthos @moth_ball @sun in a way I think the anime girl is almost worse because the person who drew it could clearly do better and chose not to and the horrible bullshit you posted was done by someone who was either 11 or clinically retarded
@nerthos @moth_ball @sun lmfao did you actually draw that? Actually Hitler would hate you because your art is better than his
@nerthos @moth_ball @sun I simply find that artists vision of overtly sexy to be completely soulless chronic masterbator core
@nerthos @moth_ball @sun ill happily send you a physical copy of my book! and ill even make a painting for you that is better than anything hitler ever did because he was low key ass at painting. i understand why he crashed out after getting kicked out of art school. he's like nick gage to me
@ageha @moth_ball @nerthos @sun everyone on earth is at least a tiny bit gay except for bi women who are 100% straight
@mirq @coolboymew @mrsaturday @sun he didn't pull a sam hyde with them at least I think he'd be more employable
