@whirly That is pretty cool though. It's amazing what them old folks collect.

How old was she when she passed away?

My grandma died at like 95 - granted this was like 15 years ago, but she literally lived in a dirt house on the prairie. She was born in like 1923 or something.

@Tony that’s insane, a dirt house?
she was born 1930 I think? Passed away at 95 or 96?

mom brought me home some tractors. not really what I’d pick for myself lol I hope they let us go through the house a different day, I’d love to find some journals or postcards.

@whirly I mean - they're classic tractors at least?

Yah, it was one of those houses where the roof was made of sod...

@admin @whirly whats up with that generation of people living so long? My grandma on my dads side was like 92/93 and my step dads mom was like 97. It's wild.

@Frondeur @Tony @admin @whirly your liver is fine if you treat it better, there was a study done on how long could organs survive assuming no disease, most organs fail after 100-120 years but the liver could survive for 1000 years or more. you can chop off 70% of your liver and it will regrow back to its original size

It could be worse, at least you have a kitchen and toilet (I'm assuming)....

@Tony @whirly you guys are american and your grandparents also lived in places like this, that's pretty cool, having rural roots. My great grandparents lived in stone houses I assume, but still. one of my great grandpas was a great cook, and the other one was a craftsman of some sort. there are some old wood planes and other kinds of weird bulgarian traditional tools and stuff in the cupboards at home
