@meso
its funny the comments are like "but theres no competitors" retard theres BILLIONS of printers

and like yeah sure enders suck ass (ask me how I know), but most modern printers come with literally everything bambu machines have

in fact if you like tinkering with printers, a decently modded ender 3 can blow the a1 out the water

and a well made voron machine rapes the competition

@theorytoe yeah but what about pricing. I need to print stuff that actually matters (stuff that can resist high temperatures and chemical damage in engine bays) not gay nigga sculptures so I need something that has the capability to print the materials required for that stuff

@meso
we talking mid teir high end like ABS/ASA or high teir materials like PA6/12 PP/PC or exotics like PEEK?

@theorytoe @meso if I want something that won't print, I'll buy a HP OfficeJet

@theorytoe I think ABS might be too low temperature, but I'm not sure. it just needs to not deform or get damaged at temperatures of up to 110C

@meso ABS will probably survive
most printers should manage that fine given they have a full metal hotend

@meso peek is too much money per kilo and PA6 is nylon

@meso @theorytoe you need a chamber heated to over 100C to print PEEK without issues. So basically a super specialized printer made from decently exotic components

@snacks @theorytoe okay so basically affordable 3D printing is for toys

@meso @theorytoe abs is prob fine for your use. It's usually what all the plastic parts in a car are made from apart from nylon. Nylon tends to creep and get soft but some carbon reinforced nylon is prob also gonna be fine and won't get dissolved by gasoline

@meso
- high tensile strength
- good impact resistance
- good layer adhesion
- fairly easy to print
- works well as a composite (ie carbon fiber/glass fiber)
- improved thermal resistance

@meso @snacks
nah, peek is exotic in regular manufacturing
most stuff that is plastic is either abs or hdpe

@meso @theorytoe peek is usually only used in super expensive stuff that combines heat and stuff that goes into your body in a plastic path. At least that's the only thing i've seen it used for.
You don't need something that extreme.
Also, i just remembered you can print pom which i think is also decent with solvents

@snacks @theorytoe i need to print some of these, one of which would plug directly into the engine block

@meso @theorytoe that's prob nylon or abs. Maybe you can find a marking
